Carbon Neutral Reporting

Leadership on energy through significant emission reductions, modeling energy efficient buildings, and educating the future renewable energy experts of B.C.

The B.C Government, through its CleanBC plan, is committed to lowering climate-changing emissions by 40% by 2030

Under B.C.s Carbon Neutral Government (CNG) program legislated under the泭泭 and the泭 (CNGR). All provincial public sector organizations (PSOs), including 51蹤獲, must be carbon neutral.

PSOs follow a five-step process to achieve carbon neutrality:

  1. Measure泭greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from buildings, vehicles and paper use.
  2. Reduce泭emissions by lowering fossil fuel, electricity, paper and refrigerant consumption.
  3. Offset泭remaining emissions by purchasing high-quality, made-in-B.C. carbon offsets.
  4. Report泭annually through the PSO Climate Change Accountability泭Report (PSO CCAR).
  5. Verify泭data and emissions.

The CCAA and CNGR require that all PSOs prepare and make public an annual Climate Change Accountability Report, documenting their organizations emissions and offsets, the actions they have taken to reduce emissions, and their plans to reduce future emissions.
