Since 2009, the CCSS has had a float in the Victoria Pride Parade and 51 has participated with other community groups since the early 2000s. The Pride Director position in the CCSS was added shortly after the society’s creation in 1990 and Westshore Towing has provided the truck and driver for the college’s float over ten years.

“Without their support our float wouldn’t be as big, noisy or awesome,” says Tagg Kelt, CCSS Clubs & Events, Financial Coordinator.

“The parade is such a rush of excitement and joy,” says Acacia Tooth, Pride Director, CCSS. “Every year, I walk by the same lady in the same spot who offers ‘mom hugs’. And every year I get a hug and cry every time. It's truly been such a spectacular thing seeing the crowds grow each year and the number of families and allies that come out and support.”

The 2025 Victoria Pride Parade happens on July 6 at 11am and begins at Pandora and Government Streets. People wanting to join the 51 float are asked to meet between 9:30-10am on Chatham St., between Store St. and Government St.
